Quiet on the sewing front

It's been a busy week, and I am shocked to reveal that I haven't sewn a stitch since last Wednesday! That's four days! I've been busy doing some fun non-sewing things. It started with my birthday. How cute is this little antique thimble that Hubby found for me? He even made the cute little box. It's so tiny next to my usual thimble.

Then we had a couple of days romancing in Sydney, leaving the boys at home alone for the first time. They survived and the house is intact.

To finish it off, today I ran a 5km fun run with my son. It was my first fun run (not sure why they put those two words together), and we were running to support research into Parkinson's disease (which my Dad had). It was raining, and I thought I was going to die, but I did it in just over thirty minutes. Here we are looking completely glamorous afterwards.

And now I am spending the afternoon "cleaning up" in my sewing room! Wish me luck.

your antique thinble is such a sweet present.
Have fun tidying up your space, always more enjoyable than cleaning the rest of the house.

  8. Good luck in your sewing room. I spent a day in mine earlier this week ... it's not necessary a fun job, but it's worth it when everything's all back in place, all tidy and clean. I feel like I can be more creative if everything's tidied up.

  20. Happy Birthday! Love the antique thimble and the box is adorable. What a sweet guy.:) Congrats on your 5k. I confess that I'm such a couch potato, walking it would be the only way I could achieve that!
