Procrastinating

I am procrastinating on some of my bigger projects by finishing off some of the smaller ones. I don't know what stops me from finishing some things off, but it's good to spend some time catching up now and then. After finishing the applique, it was good to get this pincushion made up on Friday. It's from a free tutorial by Leonie Bateman. It was very enjoyable sewing, and I'd like to do more with woven wool in the future. Thank you Leonie.

I did this cross stitch earlier in the year but couldn't find the blog where the design came from. I stumbled across it again last week so found some finishing ideas. If you like pears and cross stitch you should definitely check out Marly's blog.

And these 1/2" hexies have been hanging around for quite some time. They are now a nice little spring clip purse.......because I need another purse as much as I need another pin cushion!

I hope you find time for some stitches today.

  1. Such pretty little finishes! I love the pin cushion and the pear especially. I am terrible at finishing little things - I should make this a goal for next year!

  3. Sometimes it feels good to get some smaller finishes, gives you back the urge to tackle those bigger ones.
Loving all of your smaller projects they are amazing! Seeing your little pear makes me want to resurrect mine that I made......but it would involve some unsewing and resewing...... Maybe not.lol
    Happy sewing

  4. Lovely finishes, Susan. I love the pin cushion. Will have to go check out the tutorial. You can never have enough pin cushions or purses!

  5. Why not collect pin cushions and purses, it is a harmless pursuit and certainly cheaper then race horses or Royal Doulton china! I love the pear and the purse. The pin cushion pattern hasn't been downloaded...yet!

    1. your wool pin cushion is just gorgeous Susan. Wool is so lovely to work with. Have done a couple of classes recently with wooden spool designs which is mainly what she works in and I have fallen in love with it. Love your cross stitch pear too

lovely projects, good you made a little clip purse and a pincushion, because that is what you still needed......could not have resisted both of them and the cross stitched pear is wonderful too.

  20. Such cute projects!
I often procrastinate big projects in favour of small. I like little things, and goodness knows I do not need another quilt in this house. Also, it is easier for me to give the little things away.

  21. Finishes, wahoo! big or small a finish is a finish and with small projects they rack up quicker! Loving them all...enjoy :)
