My favourite quilt

This is my favourite quilt. I have only just gotten around to photographing it even though it's been finished for a couple of years. It is from way back before i fell in love with needleturn applique. I wish I could go back and re-do the leaf border! Based on a design by Margaret Sampson, the square-in-a-square blocks are little embroideries and applique. Clipping the quilt to the edge of the gutter is much more reliable than asking little boys to stand on chairs and hold it still.

There may not be any rain, but looking on the bright side, the blossoms on the crab apple tree and the cherry blossom are beautiful.
