..........look away now, because that is mostly what I bought in Sydney. I spent a little bit more than what I had planned but am so happy with my shirting stash now.
From Post Office patchwork, a purple combo for the nine patch swap, and on the right a Judie Rothermel wideback that begged me to buy it.

It was so hard to decide what to buy at Quiltsmith, they have so many great fabrics. More purple for the nine patch swap (and some purple for my stash too). The photo doesn't really do the shirtings justice, they are fine brown, blue and red prints.
A lot of these will find their way into my Floral Beauty quilt. I have used my stash for the majority of it, but it's getting difficult not to double up in the last two rows.

So there goes my fabric budget right out the window. Time to stay at home and sew! Today I have been cleaning windows, so somewhere in my mind it all works out in the end.
Hope you are having a lovely Sunday afternoon.

I love shirtings, would'nt do without them in any of my quilts. Your purchases are great. Have fun putting them in your projects.
ReplyDeleteLove them all and I would not be able to resist either. I think you were very restrained!
ReplyDeleteYour short sojourn in Sydney looked like a very pleasant break.

ReplyDeleteOn your way to Shez's can you stop by my house and do our windows please :o) I am only just starting to appreciate Shirtings so it's nice to see what is available out there :) hugs
ReplyDeleteLovely purchases.......well done with the windows......
ReplyDeleteNice fabrics, they will blend in perfectly. Dont worry about the budget, we only live once
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have enough to keep you busy Susan...until your next shopping trip anyway!
ReplyDeleteSuch yummy fabrics Susan - I love shirtings, and fabric budget would have been out the window too
ReplyDeletewow did you guys know that purple was my favourite colour, because i am thinking that you are all picking purple on purpose......May must be purple month....i have purple too....lol
ReplyDeleteShirtings - a total weakness for me so definitely give you a big thumbs up on your choices! Just perfect! They can sometimes be hard to find too though seem to be making a comeback. My own collection along with conversational fabrics goes way back to the '90's and are used with great care. And don't get me started on the present rarity of those conversation prints. Wish Judie Rothermel would reintroduce her collection. Sigh...so what is a budget BTW??
ReplyDeleteTruly scrumptious shirtings! I'd have blown my budget for sure if I'd been there too. Makes me wonder... do we really have a budget or do we just kid ourselves we have one to make us feel less guilty! ;o)
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics ! What budget? Windows!!!yuk I hate doing windows!!
ReplyDeleteMichelle

Yum, gorgous fabrics! I have been trying to talk DH into a trip to Sydney, if I manage it I will definatly be visiting Quiltsmith!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm swooning over the shirtings. Can never have too many. What a difference it makes to have clean windows to look out.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan,

good variety to chose from!
Cheers, Anita.
