I thought I was cured of hexie fever but it seems not. Two new hexie mini's underway. This one with 3/8" hexies, using my precious Antique Fair charm pack.
And this one using 1/4" hexies and teeny red scraps. I showed my husband Elenor Jean and he has issued me with a challenge. I haven't decided if I'm up to it yet!
There has been some secret sewing for a little pincushion swap I'm in. Mine has arrived early so it's testing my will power.
No Dear Jane progress, a little nine patch quilting progress, and backing purchased for Irish Circles. I can highly recommend Widebacks for their large range and incredibly fast service. I often piece my backings, but sometimes a special quilt deserves a special back too.
It's so beautiful in the sunshine today that I think I'll sit outside to do some sewing. Happy Mothers Day for the weekend....... I hope we all get spoilt!

ReplyDeleteOMG- 1/4" hexies!?! Love them! Not sure that I'm up to that but I'm so glad that you are - they are adorable! Happy Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteThere is no permanent cure for hexie fever - can't wait to see what you are doing with the 1/4" hexies - I got one little flower made and quickly returned to 1/2"-:)
ReplyDeletebeautiful hexy's Susan - I confess I was inspired by a recent hexy project of yours & have bought some half-inch hexy papers for a mini quilt I've seen in a magazine. They're as small as I can manage with my sometimes-stiff fingers!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the detail on your quarter inch hexies. Can't wait to see what it ends up like and the colours in your other one are lovely. That is one heck of a challenge by your hubby! It certainly would be a big commitment.
ReplyDeleteReally you thought you were cured of hexies? I do hope not as I love seeing them on your page....I am cured of sewing them, but I dont want you to be!! I think your fully capable of making a giant hexie quilt....might take a year or two, but that's OK, so long as you enjoy it. Brenda from Widebacks is the nicest lady, I use to visit her shop in Adelaide.
ReplyDeletegoodluck if you take on Eleanor Jean............
ReplyDeleteThere is no cure I'm sure! I love the teeny red fussy cuts - and only 1/4"!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're not cured of your hexie illness as I love seeing what you get up to with them and this sneak peek is just wetting my appetite! Mmmm I've seen EleanorJean and like Chooky wish you lots of luck if you do take up the challenge your husband has thrown your way :) Barb.

ReplyDeleteAre you serious... Are those red hexies only 1/4 inch across.... how would you even fold the fabric over... my fingers would not do that.. you are amazing Susan.
ReplyDeleteSusan you are an inspiration, love your work !!!
ReplyDeleteI love all your hexie projects.. those teeny weeny ones I have seen and they fascinate me... I just can't work out how it is possible to fold them so small but it obviously is.... I'm in love with it...
