To kick things off, I gathered all my quilts for a photo shoot. Twenty two years of enjoyment, all hand quilted and mostly hand sewn. Not including mini's or quilts I've gifted. How many quilts is enough???
I'm thrilled to have finished my first pair of socks during the week. They kept my toes toasty warm.
I've also cast on the next pair which are for a birthday gift. Hedgehog Fibres from the gorgeous Convent and Chapel at Rylstone.
I had a good time at the Sydney craft show. The Best of Show quilt, Love Entwined, was exquisite. I was mesmerized by the detail and workmanship. I didn't get many of the supplies on my list, but I did make some unnecessary and unexpected purchases, which is always fun too. Not pictured here is Marg Sampson Georges book. Whilst the fabrics in her quilts are daunting to me, the book is a very refreshing and liberating take on how we make our quilts, and I'm sure her designs can be adapted to my more subdued colour palette!
Hope you have a great weekend too!

ReplyDeleteA lovely photo of all your beautiful quilts together. Congratulations on finishing those lovely socks. It is a joy to finish the socks and all you have to do is hide a few ends of wool and they are ready to wear. Hope you had a productive week end. Glad you got the MSG book, it has some really creative ideas hidden amongst the pages.
ReplyDeleteW your home alone weekend is probably over by now, but I know it was a refreshing time even if you did nothing. Your stack of quilts shows an incredible journey and in a few years we want to see a second stack.
ReplyDeleteSeriously! Twenty years without home-alone time? Goodness! I just spent a whole month on my own when I shipped my hubby to Canada. I frittered much of it away, sadly, and did not get much done.
ReplyDeleteThat stack of quilts is mind-blowingly impressive. Nice show purchases too.
