We are lucky in Mudgee to have a strong culture in our schools of supporting Anzac Day. So even though it's school holidays, it was great to see my boys marching in school uniform at the parade today.
And Mr 11 helped carry the banner and lay the wreath.
It was a good opportunity for us all to stop and consider the sacrifices that were, and are being made, so we can enjoy peace and prosperity.

ReplyDeleteMy husband really fels strongly about Anzac day so he and Miss S went to the Dawn march this am, and then back to my FIL for a big BBQ breakie with the family. Sadly i was at work so i missed out
You must have been so proud...
ReplyDeleteIt is very heart warming when the boys are interested in being a part of such an important day. The service in our town was very moving and it was great to see so many children from the various schools take part and march, son number 3 included.
ReplyDeleteBuilding on what it is to be Australian. How proud you must be Susan.
ReplyDeletewell done boys,lest we forget.xx
ReplyDeleteSo good to know your boys are standing proud for Anzac Day. No matter where in the world, our children can learn early on the significance of these memorial days. I think in many US schools they have moved away from our own observations for whatever reasons and it is very sad. No one should forget or minimize what these wars have taken from us.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your boys, you must have been proud.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely that the younger generation is keeping Anzac Day going strong....Lest We Forget.
ReplyDeleteI had an interesting chat with a school Mum who grew up in Europe, so had stories of wartime life that make you really appreciate how we are the lucky country. We must never forget the lives lost, past and present of our armed forces serving around the world.
