I spent Anzac Day afternoon wrapping my mind around the many pieces that will become my sewing organiser. I'm using the Lynette Anderson fabric I bought at GDITC, and the pattern is by Atkinson Designs.
Halfway through construction.
I first saw this design when I met Dawnie at GDITC 2012. It has lots of pockets on the inside and zippered pockets on the outside. I am following the instructions to the absolute letter, no winging it with this one, and so far it's coming together.
Hoping to finish it this weekend. Happy stitching.

Love the fabrics that you have chosen. Looks like a great bag - lots of pockets and a good size.
ReplyDeleteWe met Lynette at the quilt show and saw samples of her new range, verrrrry nice.
Looks interesting. I am interested to see how it is finished off with the cnrs etc. Must go see if I can find the pattern. hugs
ReplyDeleteYou'll do great Susan as I know you loved this "box". Love the fabric choice too! :)
ReplyDeletegreat progress on your sewing organiser, lovely fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite tricky.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics there Susan, I agree with Melody it does look tricky, all those pieces, so I will be interested to see how it all finishes up. It sure looks like it will be handy & carry a bit of good gear. x
ReplyDeleteohh it looks great.....love the fabrics
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see it finished....knowing you that won't be far away...lol
Its looking fantastic Susan - how handy will this be
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very smart thing to make.
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric choices! Our LQS just received Lynette's collection - only shop in the area to carry it. I made 4 of those same bags as gifts - only struggle was getting the binding around the edges - somewhat tedious once the stiffenings are inserted in the sides. I might have gone with something a little softer but wasn't sure if it would have given the support needed.
ReplyDeleteLooks great so far and I also love the fabrics. Looks like you are nearly finished!

ReplyDeleteIt's going to be gorgeous... looks quite fiddly ... no wonder you are following all the instructions!

ReplyDeleteLooks brilliant - do you want me to send a pic of mine?? bit late now as you have it together, and yes once you have done it the first time s h o u l d you e v e r do another one is much easier to copy from!!!!! I use mine all the time and there is still no sign of it falling apart - a great little pattern.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like it would take some concentration! It's looking great already though.
