Feeling pretty pleased with myself because I've finished The Simple Life top. After quite a few dedicated night sessions at the sewing machine and iron, it's done.
The finished top.....hard to get a good pic in the wind today.
This has been a strange project for me. I probably wouldn't have made the quilt except that I bought the fabric pack in a moment of weakness. Being a compulsive finisher, I couldn't just shove it half done in the back of the cupboard. I have no plans for this quilt so it can sit quietly in the quilting queue for a while now (which isn't EXACTLY the same as being shoved half done in the back of the cupboard.........or is it?)
Now to find something to sew in Cassilis tomorrow.

Your quilt top looks lovely. Hugs......
ReplyDeleteGood for you! There is a real satisfaction in finishing tops, so sure that the right moment will arrive when you do want to quilt it and have someone in mind to give it to. Happy stitching.
ReplyDeleteWell done finishing it. It can be hard going when it's not your favourite project.
ReplyDeletePut it in the quilting queue Saturday and bring it to Cassilis tomorrow. Would love to see it up close.
ReplyDeleteHooray for you, Susan - it looks great. Have fun tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWell done finishing this quilt. It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYAY it is great to have a finished top. Please tell me that it is OK to put tops in a pile to be quilted as I have a few :o) Now. how do I harness that power to be able to finish all items I start? hugs

Lovely finish Susan. How does one become a compulsive finisher?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Friday.
Congratulations it's beautiful, the little 9 patches really pop and match in with your stitchery borders. Just from the glimpse in the top pic I can see why you had to buy the fabric pack :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you are a 'finisher' Susan and the quilt is fantastic, and will even look pretty sitting in a pile. One day I shall make friends with the sewing machine and make lovely quilts too!

It's beautiful Susan, and I wish you could give lessons on how to become a compulsive finisher. I am more in the compulsive starter category....
