Dunn's Swamp

We just had to get out of the house today, so we headed off to Dunn's Swamp in Wollemi National Park. It's really a lot nicer than the name suggests. We hired kayaks.....the water was so nice that we just leapt right in for a swim.....even me!

It's 40 degrees in our outdoor area, so now that I'm home I'm wishing I could jump back in the water. Bring on the cool change please!

This is the first little test block for my orange peel mini. No large pieces of fabric will be harmed on this project.

Happy stitching.

  6. It would have been a lovely day over there. Another place that is better than it sounds is "Dismal Swamp" in Tassie. I think they were considering even changing the name. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on your tiny blocks.

  11. Oh the appeal of tiny blocks - yours is so sweet!! A day on the water is always refreshing.. Wish I could send you some of our cooler air - our snow is piling up almost daily and the coming week brings more of the "polar vortex" with sub zero temperatures. A record winter.

  12. Ahhh I wish I could be kayaking right now. IT's too cold here to do anything but sew. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. Enjoy your orange peels

  22. Can't believe you jumped into the water. It's a known fact that you can't even step in a puddle over there without having your leg bitten off by a croc!! Are you mad!! :o) Looks lovely though and a nice dip is much better than sweltering in the heat. Hope it's not too long before you get some cooler weather. Love your little orange peel blocks... can't wait to see more...more...more!
