We just had to get out of the house today, so we headed off to Dunn's Swamp in Wollemi National Park. It's really a lot nicer than the name suggests. We hired kayaks.....the water was so nice that we just leapt right in for a swim.....even me!
It's 40 degrees in our outdoor area, so now that I'm home I'm wishing I could jump back in the water. Bring on the cool change please!
This is the first little test block for my orange peel mini. No large pieces of fabric will be harmed on this project.
Happy stitching.

ReplyDeleteIt would have been a lovely day over there. Another place that is better than it sounds is "Dismal Swamp" in Tassie. I think they were considering even changing the name. I'm looking forward to seeing your progress on your tiny blocks.
ReplyDeletelooks like a great spot.

ReplyDeleteLovely place!!! Looks peaceful!! Cute, cute little orange peel!
ReplyDeleteThe orange peel mini is so cute. How big will it be?
ReplyDeleteOh the appeal of tiny blocks - yours is so sweet!! A day on the water is always refreshing.. Wish I could send you some of our cooler air - our snow is piling up almost daily and the coming week brings more of the "polar vortex" with sub zero temperatures. A record winter.
ReplyDeleteAhhh I wish I could be kayaking right now. IT's too cold here to do anything but sew. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. Enjoy your orange peels
ReplyDeleteYour orange peels are cute...perfect for a mini wall hanging. Love the colours! Hope you get the cool change soon.

ReplyDeleteCute little project susan. Only way to cool off. The heat is supposed to hit us today.....Yuk. the river or pool may be the place. It looks lovely at Dunn's swamp.
ReplyDeleteVery good idea to cool off. Love the peels. How big is each block?
ReplyDeleteThink I could even be tempted to go into the water in those temperatures. Looking forward to see more of those lovely orange peels.
ReplyDeleteOh my, i think you are officially as mad as me with little blocks like that :o) Enjoy the process.hugs
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I could have come with you? We went camping there once. Such a lovely spot. Feels really ancient. Looking forward to seeing progress on your mini.
ReplyDeleteHope the weather cools for you. Bring on winter!!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you jumped into the water. It's a known fact that you can't even step in a puddle over there without having your leg bitten off by a croc!! Are you mad!! :o) Looks lovely though and a nice dip is much better than sweltering in the heat. Hope it's not too long before you get some cooler weather. Love your little orange peel blocks... can't wait to see more...more...more!
ReplyDeleteHave had Dunn's Swamp on my to visit list… but haven't got there yet.. It looks nice!
