And now back to some sewing

I used to do a lot of cross stitch but it fell by the wayside when I started patchwork. Just lately, thanks largely to Marina I have been dabbling in some very small projects using just one colour. I found this cute free pattern at The Primitive Hare, and used some linen and thread I bought in Sydney. I don't know how many cute small cushions one person needs, but it's relatively cheap therapy. This is where I'm up to.

The thread is Baked Apple by Weeks Dye Works......it would have to be my favourite shade of red.

It didn't snow here today, but it was certainly very cold and windy. We will be braving the soccer fields tomorrow and then some sewing time I hope.

  2. Oh same here Susan.....I really got into cross stitch when in Peel abd gave some lovely Amish ones but they have fallen by the wayside as I entered the world of patchwork and stitchery. I would really love to get back into it! I even bought a chart a little while ago.

And you cannot gave enough cute pin cushions LOL!

  3. Really lovely, Susan. I did a ton of cross stitch several years ago as well and seeing your work makes me itchy to pick up a needle again - waaaaaaay too easily distracted :). It will make a beautiful pincushion.

  5. I used to cross stitch all the time, but then it went by the wayside. I've been getting back into it over the past year or so. It's very relaxing, although I can't see well enough to stitch on linen. Love your red!

  7. Yep you summed that up right - I don't need more quilts either, but its cheaper and more fun then therapy! Love this cross stitch. I gave up cross stitch when I started quilting, but using just one colour has a big appeal.

  14. Cross stitch projects blend so well with quilting projects... I enjoy both, but admittedly need to spend more time on cross stitch. Thanks for the link for the freebie... it's lovely, and I love that red floss as well!
