Day 2

Instead of returning to the show on Saturday we decided to visit Quiltsmith and Material Obsession. I'm sad to say that I was suffering from shopping fatigue by this stage, but I was happy to find a fabric for my Irish Circles border at 25% off. Quiltsmith is always a joy, so many beautiful fabrics.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Material Obsession, they had a really eclectic collection of fabrics. Will definitely have to visit again one day........when I'm off my fabric diet! Yes, you heard correctly. I'm not getting quite the same thrill from buying patchwork supplies as I used to so I'm taking a break, and using what I have for a while. Well that's the plan anyway, it remains to be seen how long I'll last.

While I was away Hubby and Mr 13 went to the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days, and we are now the proud owners of three little ducks.

Happy stitching.
Susan x

  3. You have done the shopping double I've been thinking of doing next time I'm in Sydney. I know how to get to MO by bus. Did you use public transport for Quiltsmith?
Love the ducks. Can't see any curly tail feathers? So maybe not Indian Runners? My sister had them. They thought they were part of the family.

  8. I've been doing very well on my fabric diet this year, and I totally understand shopping fatigue. I'm sure you have many beautiful projects to work on without buying new fabric. Why ducks? THey should be fun to have around.

  9. Lovely border for Irish Circles and gorgeous blues. You seem to have a lot to keep you busy so the fabric diet may not be too painful initially. Great little ducks, is there a duck quilt in your future?

  18. Totally know where you're coming from with the fabric diet but I think mine might have to be a wool diet if I went on one. Love the ducks I hear their eggs are great for cooking with :) Barb.
