I finally finished all the applique and got the second border sewn on Irish Circles today.
Well almost. What do you think about the space in the corners? I wasn't happy with the shape on the pattern. Should I add the petal shape or leave it blank?
The final border is a large saw tooth, I'm looking forward to digging through my scraps again.
Hope you find some stitching time this week.

Susan It is just AMAZING. What a wonderful job you have done.
ReplyDeleteOh my Susan! Irish circles is a stunner!!! I am so in awe I can offer no advice at all. You can't lose whichever you decide xx
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I like it without the petal, but the petal really ties it all together! You do amazing work.
ReplyDeleteSoooo lovely, Susan. At first I would have said that the corners were just fine, but then when I saw the petal that you had laid out I think I prefer that - it just softens the border nicely.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your quilt is looking amazing. Either way it looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think I'd add the petal, I know more work for you but I think Marie hit the nail on the head when she said it softens the border anyway which ever way you decide to finish it off it's just beautiful!! :) Barb.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is just beautiful, Susan. I like it better with the petal. It fills in the extra space nicely. Whichever way you decide, it will still be a magnificent quilt.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Susan!
ReplyDeleteLooking wonderful Susan - such a pretty border . I like the petal too - gives a little focus at each corner.
ReplyDeleteI think it would look equally gorgeous with or without the extra bit in the corners. This is very impressive !!!
ReplyDeleteWow love this quilt looks wonderful !!!
ReplyDeleteYour Irish Circles is so beautiful. How about adding a fat petal (like the other arched shapes) or a circle in the corners - I think it needs something IMHO.
ReplyDeleteI like the petal! It all looks fabulous! Xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks so gorgeous Susan, so many stitches and small pieces of fabric. The petal fills the space nicely. Would you consider using the heart shape that appears in the centre circle?
ReplyDeleteoh my.... oh my... it is just a work of art Susan..... I like it either way... it's just different with or without petal .... hmmm..

ReplyDeleteLooks great, but I agree, the corner needs something to balance it out....then again the clever quilter might do a lovely quilting design in there?

ReplyDeleteFor my ten cents, I like the little petal. what does it look like pointing out to the outer corner?
