Very happily discovered yesterday that I can knit in the car! Mr 16 needed driving practice so I sat in the back knitting all the way to Bathurst and back. Hubby is very pleased because he thinks it raises his chances of driving across the Nullarbor!
Over the long weekend Mr 13 was at a loose end so I commissioned a woodwork project. This is the prototype of my new cotton reel holder. It's a tad wide, but certainly does the job. I was very impressed that he did it all by himself.
I am trying out yet another blogging app today after my troubles last week. Looking ok so far. Hope you had a lovely weekend, with lots of sewing time.

Great knitting we may have to commission Mr 13 as well ...great job xxx
ReplyDeleteLove your knitting... I can't believe you can knit in the car... I would be so sick!!! Your son has a talent there... could be a money making exercise! Just let me know if he wants to make another one.... xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you got your knitting sorted out Susan and your Mr 13 is very clever,xx
ReplyDeleteYour knitting is looking great - glad you got it sorted - nice to have something to do in the car, isn't it? Clever Mr 13 - your spool holder is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI think you will be able to hire your boys out soon to the neighbours when they need a chauffeur and a handyman! Love the cotton reel holder....if he glues a strong magnet on the other side it will hold your scissors...just in case he is up to making version 2!
ReplyDeletegreat to have something to do in the car... I did laugh about the Nullaboor drive... you should get a few things finished!!
ReplyDeleteWell done to your son with the spool holder...

I'm glad you've sorted out your knitting - I thought you could have left the twist in it being a cowl but you wouldn't have been happy. Love your cotton reel holder - very clever son.
ReplyDeleteLoVe the cowl...and you're going to be glad you did unpull it...xox
ReplyDeleteDear Susan,
ReplyDeletegood to see your knitting progress such a great deal, must be a fun project.
Your Mr. 13 had done a wonderful job on the thread spool holder, congratulations to Mr. 13 and you as Mom.
Greetings,
Sylvia
well done on your re-knitting, if you weren't happy with it, it was the only thing to do.
ReplyDeletegreat spool holder, great idea from Sue to incorporate a magnet for your scissors.
happy sewing
Mr 13 was very creative with the cotton reel holder. Maybe some knitting with a lighter cotton for the Nullarbor trip. But for the winter the cowl looks just the thing. Happy knitting.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the knitting all sorted Susan! Your boy is very clever to make that spool holder!
ReplyDeleteI'm presuming your husband was sitting in the front while you knitted in the back - not a bad way to catch up on driving hours, family chat time and some knitting.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should drive across the Nullabor - it's a great must do Aussie experience. I loved it and managed to sew hexies along the way.
ReplyDeleteLovely knitting, glad that the problem is all fixed now.
ReplyDeleteDont think I could knit in the car. Reel holder looks great.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your knitting is working out now, I so know that feeling of denial :) Love the woodwork, what a clever son!
