I did get a chance to drop in to Quiltsmith yesterday, but as is often the case, the more I plan for a shopping trip, the less I find to buy.
This is the backing I chose for The Simple Life, and a couple of prints that couldn't be left behind.....Road 15 from Sweetwater. I did find a backing for Floral beauty but there wasn't enough left on the bolt, so I've ordered it online.

The Vikings exhibition was very interesting, and we also enjoyed looking through the destroyer HMAS Vampire, and submarine HMAS Onslow. The National Maritime Musem was well worth the visit.
We are having a very quiet day today with no electricity. The power went off in the middle of my shower, and as we are on tank water, no power means no water......so not a very good start to the day. Thank goodness for hand stitching!

ReplyDeleteOh yes this will look lovely. Oh yes very interesting Naval ships can relate to this one
ReplyDeleteRoad 15 is quite a nice range of fabrics, the shop where I work has the whole lot, the only thing I would say is that they are all very small prints. Love the two you chose!
ReplyDeleteLovely buys.....
ReplyDeleteOhhh gorgeous backing, will look lovely....any excuse to stitch lol
ReplyDeleteWe are the same. It's always fun when we have a power blackout. Great fabric. Hugs......
ReplyDeleteTwo lots of backing so that means two quilts close to a finish.
ReplyDeleteHope the electricity is back on and life is back to normal.
Lucky you having a shopping trip. The backing will be perfect. We always seem to manage to find something don't we?
ReplyDeletePerfect backing for The Simple Life... glad you enjoyed some time off for shopping and site seeing!
ReplyDeleteWe upgraded the size of our generator to allow for power outages and not being able to draw water from our own well. Know that feeling without power .You found some lovely fabrics! So true when I have a specific list - shopping does not go as planned. Usually come across just the perfect thing when my wallet is on the thin side of the month...
ReplyDeleteAh life in the country! Mind you with all the strong wind we have had this week I am surprised we haven't lost the power at all, or any tree branches for that matter. Hope you had fun hand stitching and are enjoying your holidays. Glad the boys let you shop!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I hope you got the soap duds off before you lost power. Looks like you shopped really well and got what you needed.
ReplyDeleteLOL! That should say soap "SUDS" xx
ReplyDeleteGlad you found a moment to make some lovely buys.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the 'no power; no water' ... hope the power comes back shortly. Hand stitching can be such a saver at times :o)
I do like the backing you found and that lovely spot fabric...
ReplyDeleteHope the soap was off when the power went down!!
Hugz
