It's slow going but I've finally turned the corner with Sacrlett Ribands. I am so excited about finishing this one day and hanging it above my bed.
School is back for two of my boys.....seems odd that one of them didn't go (he leaves for Uni in three weeks). I just have to share Mr 14's holiday creation. It's a folding pocket knife made from an old pallet. To be honest I didn't think it would work when he showed me the design, but to his credit and with a small amount of help from Dad he's done it. Kept him occupied for quite a while.
Happy Saturday!

Both the mini hexies and your cross stitch are really beautiful Susan. Looks like creativity runs in the family.
ReplyDeleteYour workmanship is beautiful on both projects. I can see that Mr 14 has inherited your attention to detail. Very clever carpentry.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Gobsmacked! I am patting myself on the back over some 3/4 inch hexies. Just beautiful. Your son is a very clever chappie xx
ReplyDeleteLoving those hexies xxx Mr 14 is super talented as well xxx
ReplyDeletelove all you work, agree Mr 14 has acquired your attention to detail, very clever!
ReplyDeleteYour hexie project is so wonderful! I vote for something other than red in the open spaces - love all the fussy cutting you did - that's hard on such a small scale!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your projects are magnificent. Very clever son too.
ReplyDeleteLove the hexis, but the empty spaces could be anything! Hmm perhaps a fussy cut print eg red with white print? I guess you would have to match the red, so that could be tricky. Honestly they are so cute I could spend all day making a decision...good luck! Your son's woodwork project is amazing, he has his mothers talent for perfection and attention to detail.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful projects Susan !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful hexie work Susan. ..they are amazing, you are one clever woman!! I would say something other than red too. Maybe a cream or linen colour? Your cross stitch is amazing, so many stitches!!! Your son is very clever too, great holiday project.
ReplyDeleteLovely hexies Susan...not sure if they should be red...maybe make a few samples and have aplay.....perhaps white/cream with a red print....your cross stitch is coming along and wow your Son is super talented...a chip off the old block!
ReplyDeleteThree "wows" for this post! Your quilt is gorgeous and your cross stitch is exquisite. They both look like a lot of work but so worth it.
ReplyDeleteYour son's pocket knife is amazing. I love working with wood but haven't for many years. One of the things I made was a wooden box with a wooden hinge. I suppose the "hinge" on this knife made me think of it. I hope your son will treasure this knife for many, many years. If it doesn't cut the regular kinds of things knives cut, I know it would work for a letter opener.

Your hexies are fabulous, but so tiny. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteLovely hexie project and stitchery Susan. Such a beautiful cross stitch pattern.
ReplyDeleteGreetings,
Sylvia
The hexagons are coming together beautifully. They make a great picture, even unfinished. You probably already know how the gaps will be filled, just go with those clever and reliable instincts. Loved seeing your son's creation. I can see a quilt stand in your future!!
ReplyDeleteYour little hexies are just beautiful Susan. Wow love your sons pocket knife
